Sing your Song

"A bird does not sing because it has an answer--

it sings because it has a song."

Chinese Proverb

Carolina Wren singing.

A touch of spring on this winter day, and a reminder to us all.

We each have a song to sing.

Carolina wrens are good role models.

Carolina Wren on snowy day with sub-zero wind chill.

Winter can be really hard on these wrens, a deep freeze can be dangerous for them. But on last week's coldest days, I still heard them fuss and bluster, and yes, even sing. Unlike most birds who only use chip notes and calls during winter's non-breeding season, Carolina wren's sing all year round!
